Healthy or Harmful?
Genetically modified organisms
may be cost efficient, but are they healthy for us humans? Little research has
been done over this issue, but recent studies have shown that GMOs contain high
risks for allergic reactions. Almost all food allergies come from a specific
protein, that can come from these foods: milk, eggs, wheat, fish, tree nuts,
peanuts, soybeans, and selfish. For example is someone is allergic to soybeans
and they eat a food product that contains soybeans, then they are going to get
an allergic reaction and they could possibly dies from it. Food products that may contain these allergic
reactions are forced by the FDA to put a warning label on the food
product. Even though putting a warning
label is very helpful it can also be very dangerous because what if someone is
having diner at a restaurant and they are served food with a food allergy they
are allergic too. They could eat it
without knowing and it would be very harmful.
